Amber Run // Haze [video]

Amber Run have been busy at work on their second album.  Now they've come out of silence and the mysterious white teasers (if you've been following their socials you'll know what I'm talking about) to give us their newest track, "Haze".  As simplistic as songs can come, this two minute masterpiece features solely vocals, weaving in and out of the dark, meaningful lyrics.  We pride the way Amber Run are always able to bring us something simple and deep at the same time.  Can't wait to hear more!

The band has this to say about the new track (via the band's Facebook page):

Haze is about seeing the world through a veil of distrust and sadness. An apology for feeling that whatever you do, you’ll inevitably end up failing; that whoever you love will inevitably end up leaving, and that in whichever direction you walk, you’ll inevitably end up at the same place. It’s a plea for someone or something to come along and get you back on your feet.

Carroll // Bad Water [video]

One of our favourite psych rock outfits, Carroll, just released a rad new video for 'Bad Water'.  This track is off their recent self titled release, which you should check out if you haven't already.  It's hard not to get lost in the encompassing graphics and the magic of the song itself.

Fun fact:  Artist Lila Burns (who did this video) also designed the band's album cover, and past EP Needs.

VIDEO PREMIERE: The Middle Ground // Lake Michigan

New Nashville transplants, The Middle Ground, are back with a new tune.  We are excited to be the first to share it with you!  They played the unique 'Lake Michigan' to a lucky audience at a recent Sofar Sounds Philadelphia show (more on that below).  'Lake Michigan' has a little bit of everything to love from its fun pop melody, smooth vocals, head bob worthy bass line, and the multiple other layers of influences throughout the song.

The Middle Ground's self titled EP was released last year, featuring great tunes such as 'Shots of Heaven'.  We don't know about you, but we're excited to hear more from these guys in the near future...

Be sure to follow Sofar Sounds in your city! Sofar provides an intimate experience in unique spaces all around the world, where the sole focus is music.  Best of all the location is secret (unless you're on the list) and you won't know who is playing til you show up.  You never know who might be performing, imagine arriving to a house and finding out Hozier is playing...it's happened before.  Be sure to sign-up for their mailing list at: www.sofarsounds.com
