Cold Fronts are defined as the transition zone where a cold air mass is replacing a warmer air mass. However, we aren’t talking about the weather. We’re talking about your new favorite band. During an impromptu street show at SXSW last year, Semour Stein, president of Sire Records, happened to be walking by and now they are signed to Sire with an album being released later this year. “I though he was just someones grandpa asking for our demos, not anyone important.” Says lead signer Craig Almquist.

Their debut EP ‘Forever’ came out last November with single ‘Hit Me’ which is most certainly going to be on all of our summer playlists. Craig, the only original member of the band, tells us the EP was written about different cities, girls, and funny enough, being bummed out about winter. “ Theres just something about taking something sad and hiding it behind Pop music. I love the juxtaposition.” Which is actually where Craig derived the name of the band from.

Rumor has it the bands debut album will be released this following summer with a hopeful US tour to follow. Yet, we are more excited about the bands latest endeavor, a love song to the youngest member of female rock band ‘Haim.’ “They just like, flail their hair around, its fucking awesome. I want a girl like that.” Craig says when we brought up the girls. The best part is, the song didn’t go un- noticed. Baby Haim ( Alana ) retweeted him saying she loved the song. Hoping for a collaboration in the future?
