Nate Ruess released his second single, 'AhHa', which is set to be the opening track off of his upcoming album. Titled Grand Romantic, Ruess’ debut solo album is set to release on June 16th.
AhHa opens with an exuberant chant that is reminiscent of Queen and remindful of fun.’s previous albums. Ruess shows the wide range of versatility that will appear on his upcoming album with the extreme differences in sound between Grand Romantic’s first single 'Nothing Without Love' and 'AhHa'.
The new single contains a few sweet surprises mixed in it as well. There are lines from E.E. Cummings’ poem “Somewhere I Have Never Traveled, Gladly Beyond” in the background of the pre-chorus. Secondly, the pre-chorus itself echoes the ending lines of fun.’s hit song 'Some Nights'. Lastly, the final line of 'AhHa' reveals the where the title Grand Romantic originated from.
Along with the announcement of the new single and the albums release date, Nate Ruess also announced a small upcoming US/Europe tour that is set to take place in May and June. The shows will be small and intimate; the LA venue can only hold 600 people. He states that he plans to play “songs from Grand Romantic as well as fun. and Format favorites.”
