Indie singer-song writer Ingrid Michaelson returned to SummerStage for the second year. The Staten-Island native put on a sold-out show at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park with openers Secret Someones and Jukebox the Ghost.
Michaelson opened the set with “Time Machine,” a tune from her latest album Lights Out. The show was followed by a mix of new and old tunes, including some of the crowd favorites - “Everybody,” “The Way I Am,” “You And I,” “Be Ok,” and a cover of Bon Iver’s “Skinny Love.”
Towards the end of the show, Michaelson dedicated “Girls Chase Boys” to America, as she congratulated the country on making a history, referring to Supreme Court’s decision on legalizing same sex marriage last week.
The night ended with her encore set – “Falling In Love,” “Fire,” and a cover of Icona Pop’s “I Love It” with all of the openers (Secret Someones, Jukebox the Ghost) on stage.
The concert is a part of Michaelson’s A Summer Night Out tour.
