Syvia's show at Saint Vitus Bar in Brooklyn, a couple of weeks ago, was a nice send-off for the band, who practically left straight for the airport soon after that show. Their dedication and commitment to their music and each other was clearly apparent that night.
Soon after the show, the band headed for Europe to promote their new EP Silent Violence as part of the Brooklyn Sound Tour sponsored by the Brooklyn Brewery. There, they visited the five beautiful, nordic cities of Helsinki, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Oslo, Bergen.
Ruth Mirsky, vocals are hauntingly beautiful but not in a way that makes you want to escape to another place or condition, but rather it has a soothing and grounding quality that helps you integrate the best of your dreams into whatever your current situation might be. It's "dreamy", but it's also the music of realism. - or as the band best describes it themselves: " It's the Northern lights meeting NYC's steel skyscrapers."
Even though the track "Unloveable" is from their earlier work, it is still highly recommended for you Spring playlist.
Our Interview with Ms. Mirsky will be up soon on or site!
