Australian ambient electronic band Vancouver Sleep Clinic, the solo project of singer/songwriter Tim Bettison, made a stop recently in Louisville, Ky opening for KASBO. He is currently touring with his live band in support of his latest EPs, Therapy Phase 01 and Therapy Phase 02. The mood this evening was chill as the band took the stage, with the lighting reflecting the mood of the songs, washing the venue in hues of red, blue and purple, with sporadic bits of yellow and white. Bettison made great use of the stage and really feels the music as he sings, often dancing around the stage and standing at the edge of the stage to sing directly to the crowd. Towards the beginning of the set Bettison asked everyone how they were doing and thanked them for coming out this evening. He mentioned that it was his second time playing Louisville, having played here once before in 2016 as support for the British indie band Daughter, and that it felt good to be back. Playing a varied set list, he had the crowd dancing along to his songs all evening and having a great time. Although he is fairly new to the scene, Bettison has made quite a few fans over the past year. Many of those at the barricade this evening were singing along to every song and clearly passionate fans of Jettison’s music! He set the perfect mood for the evening ahead!
