Hope&Social have crafted a great mix of indie and rock sounds from out of Yorkshire for the best part of a decade. The Leeds-based six-piece (first under the name Four Day Hombre) caught the imagination of thousands upon thousands of people with consistent tours throughout the UK and Canada in the early noughties. Their diversity and strength comes from the touching and emotive piano lines that they produce in tracks including ‘Looking For Answers’ and ‘April’, complimented perfectly by Simon Wainwright’s skyrocketing vocals that honestly challenge Muse’s Matt Bellamy for impact.
An inspiring story for most local bands that have felt like quitting and giving up in exchange for a “normal” 9-5 job, about what happens when you just keep at it, Hope&Social has never quit, and they’ve kept recording (and working) from 2006 to 2008 (as FDH) and since then as H&S in order to achieve national acclaim through performing at Glastonbury and other well-attended UK festivals. If you are a fan of everything from Queen to Muse then Hope&Social’s uplifting, passionate and accessible tunes will definitely be for you.
